Colonel (Ret.) Robin Montgomery

Strategic Growth, Defense Modernization, and Logistics Executive

Colonel (Ret.) Robin “Rob” W. Montgomery serves as Senior Business Development Executive at PnAutomation, where he supports strategic growth, business development, customer engagement, and solution development across the defense and national-security markets. A retired U.S. Army Colonel with nearly three decades of military leadership and operational and strategic experience, Montgomery brings extensive expertise in enterprise logistics and sustainment, strategic planning, organizational transformation, emerging technology, international operations, and senior-level government engagement.

Montgomery most recently served as the 45th Chief of Ordnance and Commandant of the U.S. Army Ordnance School, where he led one of the Army’s largest technical training enterprises and was responsible for developing the workforce that sustains many of the Army’s most complex weapons and equipment systems. His portfolio encompassed maintenance and recovery, munitions and ordnance management, electronic and communications maintenance, explosive ordnance disposal, explosive safety, advanced manufacturing, and technical workforce development. He also helped advance Army modernization by integrating emerging technologies, advanced manufacturing, and data-driven decision-making into training and sustainment operations.

Previously, Montgomery served as Chief of Strategy, Plans, and Policy for Logistics and Engineering at U.S. Central Command, advising senior military leaders on strategic logistics, engineering, infrastructure, and theater posture across 21 countries in the Middle East and Central Asia. His other senior assignments included service as Aide-de-Camp to the 17th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and assignments at NATO Joint Force Command Naples. His command experience spans brigade, battalion, squadron, company, troop, and detachment levels, including command of a largest multinational sustainment organization in the Republic of Korea. A combat veteran of multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, he has led organizations across conventional, cavalry, special operations, and security force assistance formations and worked extensively with U.S. government, allied and partner-nation, and industry leaders.

At PnAutomation, Montgomery applies this experience to connect commercial technology with complex defense and government mission requirements. His focus includes expanding PnAutomation’s presence across the Army sustainment enterprise, organic industrial base, logistics and maintenance operations, enterprise business systems, automation, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation. He works with government and industry stakeholders to identify operational challenges, develop strategic partnerships, shape opportunities, and position scalable technology solutions that improve workflow, decision-making, readiness, efficiency, and mission performance.

Montgomery earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Washington and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Kansas. He was a National Security Fellow at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, and is a graduate of the U.S. Army War College and Joint and Combined Warfighting School. Montgomery holds an active Top Secret Clearance.
