Baltimore, Maryland — September 24, 2026 — Pn Automation, Inc. today announced that Colonel Robin “Rob” W. Montgomery has joined the company as Senior Business Development Executive.
Colonel Montgomery brings nearly three decades of U.S. Army leadership experience spanning logistics, engineering, strategic planning, technology modernization, workforce development, international operations, and complex program management. In his new role, he supports Pn Automation’s strategic growth, customer engagement, opportunity development, and solution alignment across the defense and national-security markets.
Colonel Montgomery has served as the 45th Chief of Ordnance and Commandant of the U.S. Army Ordnance School, one of the Army’s largest and most consequential training institutions. In this capacity, he has led approximately 1,700 employees responsible for training, educating, and developing Army professionals and technicians across maintenance, ammunition, electronic and communications maintenance, explosive ordnance disposal, and explosive safety.
His responsibilities have included oversight of eight training departments, seven satellite locations, 18 training centers, and an annual budget of approximately $34 million. The school processes more than 120,000 students annually and supports career development, accreditation, and certification programs affecting over 93,000 Ordnance professionals throughout the Army.
Colonel Montgomery has also contributed to Army modernization by supporting the identification, acquisition, and development of advanced technologies in collaboration with defense and industry partners.
Before serving as Chief of Ordnance, Colonel Montgomery served as Chief of Strategy, Plans, and Policy for Logistics and Engineering at U.S. Central Command. He advised senior military leadership on logistics and engineering priorities across 21 countries in the Middle East and Central Asia.
In that role, he chaired requirements oversight for approximately $1.6 billion in logistics and construction initiatives and coordinated complex programs with senior U.S., allied, and partner-nation leaders. His work encompassed strategic planning, technology, munitions, military sales, engineering, and logistics capabilities supporting critical missions.
Colonel Montgomery’s command experience also includes leading a 3,300-person multinational organization in South Korea with responsibility for transportation, maintenance, fuel distribution, warehousing, food service, additive manufacturing, explosive ordnance disposal, and CBRNE operations.
He previously led organizations supporting security-force assistance missions in Africa and Afghanistan, where he advised foreign military and government leaders on national maintenance programs, infrastructure, workforce development, and fiscal planning.
As Senior Business Development Executive, Colonel Montgomery brings substantial mission knowledge and customer insight to Pn Automation’s defense-growth initiatives.

Colonel Robin “Rob” W. Montgomery is a senior U.S. Army leader with nearly 30 years of experience in logistics, engineering, strategic planning, modernization, organizational leadership, and international operations. His assignments include service as the 45th Chief of Ordnance and Commandant of the U.S. Army Ordnance School and Chief of Strategy, Plans, and Policy for Logistics and Engineering at U.S. Central Command.
Colonel Montgomery holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Kansas and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Washington. His executive and professional education includes programs at Carnegie Mellon University, Harvard University, the U.S. Army War College, and the Joint and Combined Warfighting School.
His honors include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, four Bronze Star Medals, and the Republic of Korea’s Order of National Merit—Samil Medal.
